So, I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but these have gone now, not to mention, the server itself has disappeared, so why has this happened?
Yep, that's the first one, but there's more reasons too, so keep on reading
I was updating the Gopher hole and when I was adding to it, it sort of just didn't want to show or interpret the links properly, it's as if Pygopherd had failed or something weird had happened, but, it annoyed me and I did try to find out what had happened, but I couldn't get my head round it
I think I sort of lost interest somewhere along the way - I think the main reason I got in to this was because I'd gone down that "small internet" rabbit hole after watching a few YouTube videos on the topic, and I liked the idea more than how much time I spent uploading content.
Unfortunately, this can be a theme with me sometimes, I get a huge amount of hyper-focus on something then I sort of "burn out" and it all falls off, and then I lose interest, I would say this is what has happened here
The content was very different on these platforms, which was not how I intended it in the first place, I wanted similar content across all of these (web, Gopher & Gemini) but it didn't work out that way, I think I'd sort of lost direction with this
I'm not sure anyone was actually looking at or reading any of it tbh, I had no sort of stats of analytics to find out either way tbh.
Ok, so it wasn't hugely expensive (worked out about $4 a month, the cheapest VPS on Digital Ocean) but it was something I was paying for and not utilising, so there wasn't much point in paying for something when I'm not sure if anyone is getting any benefit
I think that says it all really, I'd got involved in too many things and couldn't really put time in to this. Getting the disk mag off the ground was more important to me.
No, not really, I may consider revisiting this at a later date, but it's just not my focus at this time
